Is it possible to create ads like in cinema, advertising that competes with cinematic art? Create ads that will be as interesting as a good movie. Or as good as articles in the best and most prestigious magazines, or as impressive as impressive videos posted on the best channels. Some time ago, we shared the idea of competing with cinema, that is, making commercials so original that they would gather a large audience similar to films. To be so impressive and spectacular that they are viewed with pleasure, and more than once, so that they are viewed repeatedly. So that advertising has its own unique idea, script, direction, plot, characters, spectacular and memorable moments. So that commercials are as impressive and effective as the best movies, video clips and games, so that advertising articles are as fascinating as the best books and articles in the best magazines. Well, it’s time to think again in this direction. We can test various scenarios, create and use fantastic objects, landscapes and characters, use virtual, augmented and mixed reality. It would be very cool to visit an exhibition hall, showroom, office or a metaverse with a unique design, look at objects, shelves, screens and products from the near and distant future, get advice from fantastic characters and robots with artificial intelligence, get into a time machine and go on a journey, a walk through the future. In fact, with the help of a time machine, we can also go back in time, see the same place or different places in different periods of history: look at the fashion of the 70s, watch movies and moments from films of the 60s, listen to music or look at advertising posters of the 1930s, Visit a 19th century market or fair, a Renaissance exhibition or concert, attend an exciting event from Ancient Rome or Ancient Egypt, or try to see the world through the eyes of the ancient Greeks. Using modern technology, we could also change the present: create objects, spaces, and metaverses that differ from standard representations, patterns, and expectations. People can be offered completely different, unexpected and unusual experiences. Everything may differ from what we see in our daily life, or at least from part of it. Nature, technology, buildings, vehicles, people and their behavior – everything can be different. Unique plants, devices, buildings, vehicles, design, people, fashion, music, movies, food, sports, games – anything. Unique scenes and scenarios, unique moments. Unprecedented actions and incredible situations. Unattainable abilities and superpowers. Impressive opportunities, ideas, products, concepts and strategies, incredible advertising, unusual offers and solutions.
To make advertising look like a movie, of course, we can watch a large number of films and try to create our own script, which, for example, could be suitable for a short film. We can create and develop a cool story with an inspiring beginning, an exciting sequel, a mysterious ending, suggesting an unpredictable development of events. Of course, the main attention will be paid to the advertised product or products, but not constantly, so as not to annoy. The same strategy can be used when creating promotional articles: a cool story or cool stories, as if we were reading a good book, with the addition of advertised products to the book or article. It’s a very cool idea to create a cool game or games with advertising content inside. So that you can have fun and enjoy the game, and at the same time learn about the possibilities and advantages of new products. The point and the idea is not that the game is annoyingly interrupted by advertising, but that the advertised products appear at certain times and in certain places of the game. For example, we are playing a shooting game, we go to an abandoned base, everything looks very sad inside, but suddenly we find a modern smartphone of the latest model with a lot of cool applications and features. Then we can call a friend and brag about what we found, but for now we’ll look at the menu and virtually test the capabilities of this fantastic device, and as soon as we’re sure we like it, we’ll order it or go to the store to buy it 🙂 In fact, this is the essence of the idea, while people are watching cool videos or movies, reading cool books and articles or playing cool games, to see, discover and learn about the existence of cool products. This should not happen in an intrusive way and anger people. For years, TV movies and videos on social media have been interrupted by commercials. You are watching something interesting, but the show is often interrupted due to advertising. Here the idea is that a movie or clip, on the one hand, and an advertisement, on the other, become one. Products should be included in a movie, clip, article or game in an interesting way, without boring the audience, but impressing them. So that people like both the content and the product at the same time. This is the goal 🙂
