We continue to play because the fifth version of the concept of games, competitions and contests called “Imagine” is ready. We called it “Imagine 5: Perspectives” because the goal is to use our imagination, ingenuity and resourcefulness to create and propose impressive ideas that could be implemented and developed in the near and distant future to create prospects for development in various spheres of life and improve people’s lives in general. โImagine 5โ will help us create ideas, concepts, projects, products, strategies and directions that can be implemented and developed in the long term, it will help us look into the future and create it. And again, as in previous versions, we will have to compete with other participants and teams to come up with the most impressive and unique ideas on certain topics. “Imagine 5: Perspectives” will once again give us the opportunity to test our abilities, both in topics in which we are strong and have significant knowledge and experience, and in topics in which we want to gain new knowledge and expand our common culture. โImagine 5โ will give us the opportunity to develop and expand our ideas and proposals, but it will also introduce us to new directions and challenges, and invite us to try our hand and test our abilities in topics that were previously unfamiliar to us. Participants and teams will have the opportunity to independently come up with topics and directions, as well as invite other people, participants and teams to take part in competitions on these topics. They will also be able to join topics and directions created by other participants, without restrictions. The number of participants may be limited only if it is a specific topic, event or competition in which there are specific rules, goals and requirements for participants. It is necessary to create lists of topics and directions, and people should be able to easily find topics according to their interests and desires, as well as topics to satisfy their curiosity, gain a unique experience and broaden their horizons.
In practice, everything will look the same as in previous versions of โImagineโ, because at the beginning a topic is set, which can be a search for options for the development of events in a certain area of life or a search for working solutions to certain problems, after which participants will need to start giving ideas, solutions and suggestions that could solve the problems indicated in the topic, and find good options for the development and continuation of the topic. Here, participants and teams will have to strive to offer the best and potentially feasible options and solutions, to offer impressive and unique solutions in order to impress other participants, teams and the audience. In “Imagine 5: Perspectives”, participants and teams will not need to stay in each topic as long as possible and offer as many ideas as possible in order to earn as many points as possible. In this version, the number of suggested ideas will not matter. What will be important is the potential effectiveness of the proposals made, the proposed options and solutions, their uniqueness and potential for future development and growth. Participants, teams and viewers will have the opportunity to vote for any proposed idea, concept, option, solution and evaluate them, as well as criticize them. Participants and teams will accumulate points based on the votes and ratings received. A special scale can be introduced so that people can indicate how much they like and how much they approve of each proposal. For example, if a person likes an idea or a proposal, they can give an assessment based on how good they think the idea or proposal is. For example, give a rating on a scale from 1 to 3, which corresponds to 1-3 points, respectively. So, if he thinks that a particular proposal is pretty good and will have a positive effect, he can give a score of 1 or 1 point, if he thinks that the proposal is really good, he can give a score of 2 or 2 points, and if he thinks that the proposal is awesome and should be implemented, give a score of 3 or more points. Or on a scale of one to 10. Even the results of competitions can be summarized in several tables, for example, one will assess the need for the proposed idea, the second – the originality of the idea, and the third – how well the idea will work and how great is the potential for development. Ideas and proposals should be presented, described and illustrated in the best possible way, with as much useful information and details as possible in order to maximize their potential for people. When new ideas, solutions, concepts, strategies and directions are proposed and presented, emphasis should be placed on how everything will look if it is implemented in practice, over what period it can be implemented and to what extent it can be developed and expanded, as well as what results it can lead to. It would be very good to indicate the potential deadlines for the implementation of ideas, indicate the periods of their implementation, indicate the potential time frame and suggest how long-term one idea can be relevant and useful. It is necessary to specify and comment on any important goals and parameters that need to be achieved. It is necessary to propose and comment on various scenarios of development, make various assumptions, put forward hypotheses and discuss them, comment on what effect different options will have, how they will affect people’s lives.
Now, of course, comes the most interesting part, and we will give examples of topics for “Imagine 5: Perspectives” based on both commented topics in previous versions and new topics. For example, let’s go back to chatbots with artificial intelligence that perform tasks for people. We have always wondered how many activities a chatbot could perform and how many services it could provide. We are happy when he reminds us to pay our bills, or if he pays them himself, we are happy when he makes us fresh breakfast and soft drinks after we have returned from a trip using the Internet of Things. We commented that it would be nice to be able to order him a list of tasks that need to be completed without errors and omissions, and that he would report to us on the work done. The point was that it would be nice for the chatbot to be able to do as many tasks for us as possible and save our time and effort. He can even turn into a favorite character and our friend with whom we can communicate in a friendly way. A curious idea is for a chatbot with artificial intelligence to become a character and acquire broader capabilities and skills. For example, to have the ability to search, discover and create new ideas, solutions, niches, directions and opportunities for us, to help us acquire new knowledge and abilities, to help us realize our goals. Have the ability to explain to us every concept, every innovation in an accessible language. Imagine if it could give us a detailed analysis of each solution option, guide us through the wilds of each topic, immerse us in details, explain each individual phenomenon and teach us how to use each individual technology. Imagine if it has the ability to read and interpret all the details and offer solutions, as well as introduce us to interesting places online and live. Imagine that it has the ability to read and interpret the functionality of websites, platforms and technologies, navigate us and point us to each next step and the entire sequence of actions necessary to perform this or that action. Imagine if this character with artificial intelligence learns to read and interpret people’s behavior, predict scenarios for the development of events, and also show and tell us what actions should be taken. What do you think about a chatbot or a character with artificial intelligence? How realistic is it that the above ideas and options will be implemented in the near future, and what of the above is already possible and available for use? What results can all these ideas and options lead to? And what are your ideas and suggestions on this issue?
Now let’s talk again about modifiable spaces and modules that we talked about in โImagine 3โ: we imagined spaces and rooms that can constantly change their size and distribution, with movable walls and, for example, with opening roofs. The goal was to use the space more efficiently or, for example, to create a spectacular and attractive design. We talked about modules that, if necessary, could be easily moved to another location, thereby helping to protect people to some extent from the effects of global warming, accidents and wars. We commented on the creation of modules and elements that can be easily assembled and disassembled and moved to another location, both within the plot or property, and at a distance. Modules that can be easily transported over long distances, which can facilitate the movement of offices, homes and groups of people. Now we will share with you a unique idea that will help save space and provide more free space and greenery, namely that the modules can be mounted on special towers that look like TV towers, but lower. Imagine a TV tower with a panoramic terrace and a rotating panoramic restaurant (you could imagine a TV tower in Toronto, Canada), then imagine the same tower, but in a smaller version, and with modules installed vertically on it, with an elevator and even with an underground part. There will be a need for good lightning rods and strong structures. Thus, many objects can be placed between the towers: parks, shops, anything. Do you think this will save space? If we are talking about an earthquake zone, the modules can be installed horizontally, above ground level, leaving the space under them free.
And now it’s time to talk about technologies that will allow you to quickly and efficiently serve people and meet their needs. Technologies related to the Internet of Things, technologies for fast data transmission and processing, 3D printers, various types of machines and specialized robotic systems, as well as work with artificial intelligence, including humanoid robots, help in this direction. We mentioned that chatbots or characters with artificial intelligence can prepare us a fresh breakfast and juice after we return from work or travel, and also that we can manage our home using โSmart Homeโ technologies. We know that we can combine a large number of machines, assembly lines, industrial robots, 3D printers and humanoid robots into a single system or into separate systems, and control them remotely. Thus, enterprises, factories, warehouses and offices located thousands of kilometers from each other could be interconnected and work synchronously. In this way, enterprises could work more efficiently, according to the same rules and standards, and produce a larger volume of products. Offices, laboratories and development centers could also work better, develop and implement new technologies faster, ensuring the same high quality all over the world. In โImagine 4โ, we asked what would be better when we place an order – for the order to be delivered as quickly as possible or for there to be special shops, warehouses, showrooms and exhibition centers where there are universal 3D printers, robotic arms, robotic manipulators and various types of robots capable of producing absolutely any product high quality or a large set of different products, and so that people do not have to wait at all. We just go into the showroom, look at the samples, we like the sample, give our instructions, wishes and additions, and after a few minutes we leave with the newly made product. Or, for example, we independently describe what we want to get, and we get it. We discussed that the same devices could appear in people’s homes, but probably with fewer functions, but with enough options so that people can choose the functionality themselves. Thus, people could receive goods directly to their homes in a matter of seconds, creating them themselves, including designer goods. In this case, it would be nice if a person could describe, visualize, draw a sketch, design and modify a product or a commodity unit, it would be nice if he had the opportunity to design and create something original, and a universal 3D printer could reproduce it in a matter of seconds. The easiest way to do this is to use a chatbot with artificial intelligence or a neural network, where a person simply describes in detail what he wants to create, and receives ready-made options and designs that he can modify, alter and improve. But you can try to draw sketches, design and create original things yourself using specialized software. Thus, your works can be completely unique, created from scratch. Do you like the idea of being able to make the goods you need at home using a universal 3D printer instead of waiting for the goods to be delivered? Or do you prefer the opportunity to visit specialized exhibition halls and showrooms that could offer more functionality of 3D printers and robots, more opportunities for projects, samples and products that could be made before your eyes in a matter of seconds. Do you think such services can displace traditional trade and logistics? In what time frame could this happen and what would be the consequences? Will some enterprises producing consumer goods go bankrupt, or will they be able to refocus on the production of industrial goods? However, the need for large quantities of many types of goods will remain. Or could they refocus on design, development and R&D in the future to offer products with higher added value? What would be the situation with warehouses? Will there be a large number of unsold goods lying around, or will many warehouses turn into exhibition halls, showrooms and shopping centers with their own machines, 3D printers, robotic manipulators and various types of robots. They can have special screens, holograms, projectors, virtual, augmented and mixed reality tools to help people make their choice and order the best for themselves. Such technologies can help their clients to look at each individual idea and product from different points of view, to present them in different variants, conditions and circumstances. This way, it will be easier for customers to see the potential of each idea and product.
In “Imagine 4” we asked ourselves what an artificial intelligence robot would tell us about parties. Would it be a cool party with the means of virtual, augmented and mixed reality, where we could order all kinds of unique and unprecedented things that we could order on the spot or in advance, including those that we could recommend, describe and create ourselves? What about an entertainment space consisting only of screens, video walls, holograms and projectors? A bit like a movie? And a fantastic setting, and fantastic characters everywhere. Have you seen similar ones? What kind of setting, characters and technology do you prefer? Do you like to travel to different incredible places, worlds and universes, do you like to dream about looking beyond the horizon? What is there? Is it beautiful there? Are you ready to discuss and create new fantastic things using modern technologies? Fantastic things that can be useful today and tomorrow, in the near and far future.
